Combined Degree Programs
McAfee School of Theology offers seven combined degree programs. Combined degrees allow the opportunity to pursue two degrees that merges the diverse interests of the applicant to be better equipped for many different fields in a shorter amount of time. When applying for a combined degree, applicant needs to apply to each school the degree is housed in. McAfee partners with Mercer’s Stetson School of Business and Mercer’s College of Professional Advancement to offer the degrees listed below. Master of Divinity and Master of Business Administration
The Combined M.Div. and M.B.A. degree is designed for qualified students who seek career advantages in both preparing for the management of human, material and financial resources, as well as attaining theological training for ministers and other servant leaders. This unique program integrates a foundation of business administration into the local church or ministry setting. A full-time student could expect to finish the two degrees in three years of study, including summer terms.
Applicants must meet the admission requirements for both the McAfee School of Theology and Stetson-Hatcher School of Business.

Master of Divinity and Master of Music in Church Music
The combined M.Div. and M.M.C.M. degree program provides foundational training for the 21st-century minister interested in integrating pastoral care with arts ministry. Students in the program will develop worship leadership skills, gain valuable skills in pastoral care, and deepen the future minister’s musical and artistic understanding. The dual degree program culminates in either a thesis or creative project.
Applicants must meet the admissions requirements for both the School of Theology and the School of Music. Admission into one program does not guarantee admission into the other program.

Master of Divinity and Master of Science in Clinical Mental Heath Counseling
The Combined M.Div. and M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree, is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. This degree is for students seeking to pursue leadership in religious settings with skills both in theology and counseling and who would like to seek licensure as a professional counselor. The combined degree prepares students to meet the increasing demand of ministers and other church personnel are called upon to attend to the mental, emotional, and relational needs of their members in addition to their spiritual needs. Students attending full-time can expect to complete both degrees in four years including summers.
Students with this combined degree may pursue a variety of pastoral and counseling careers, including: pastoral ministry, pastoral counseling, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, chaplaincy, various psychiatric and counseling services
Students enrolled in the combined degree program will complete the requirements for both the M.Div. and the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degrees. Applicants must meet the admission requirements for both the McAfee School of Theology’s M.Div. and the College of Professional Advancement’s M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
120 hours, 4 years including summers, requires internship
Master of Divinity and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (Nonprofit)
The Combined M.Div. and M.S. in Organizational Leadership, with a concentration in Leadership for the Nonprofit Organization, is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. It is designed to incorporate advanced theological training with leadership and organizational studies, providing students with the essential knowledge for ministry, as well as the tools and best practices they will need in order to excel in today’s complex organizations. The combined program provides every student with opportunities for personal spiritual formation and development, as well as practical experience in his or her chosen field of ministry. Students attending full-time can expect to complete both degrees in three years including summers.
Designed to promote excellence in the governance and leadership of nonprofit philanthropic organizations, the combined degree program prepares students to lead others effectively and identify innovative solutions to challenges in a variety of professional settings. The concentration prepares graduates for a successful leadership career in a high-growth sector through the acquisition of key skills associated with promotion, strategic planning, fund development, board governance, and recruitment. Nonprofits might include para-church organizations, community organizations, neighborhood associations, child welfare agencies, family support centers, healthcare organizations, municipal offices, and civic groups.
Applicants must meet the admission requirements for both the McAfee School of Theology and the College of Professional Advancement of Mercer University.

Master of Theological Studies and Master of Music in Church Music
The combined M.T.S. and M.M.C.M. degrees integrate the foundational studies of theology and church music to prepare future ministers for work in the 21st-century church. Master of Theological Studies and Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
The combined M.T.S. and M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. This degree is for students seeking to pursue counseling careers in religious settings with skills in both theology and counseling and who would like to seek licensure as a professional counselor. The combined degree prepares students for specialized work as counselors using knowledge of theological principles as the basis for attending to the mental, emotional, relationship, and spiritual needs of individuals.
Students with this combined degree may pursue a variety of pastoral and counseling careers, including: marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, and various psychiatric and counseling services. Students attending full-time can expect to complete both degrees in four years including summers.

Master of Arts in Christian Ministry and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (Nonprofit)
The combined M.A.C.M. and M.S. in Organizational Leadership (concentration in nonprofit) is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. This program is designed to prepare students for leadership in both faith-based communities and today’s complex organizations by developing the practical abilities and skills needed in those settings. Through exploring non-profit specific strategies in development, budget, volunteerism, governance, and strategic planning, this program is ideal for those seeking to create change in their communities. Students attending full-time in the residential M.A.C.M. program can expect to complete both degrees in two years including summers. Students attending in the online M.A.C.M. program can expect to complete both degrees in three years including summers.
Students enrolled in the combined degree program will complete the requirements for both the M.A.C.M. and the M.S. in Organizational Leadership degrees. Applicants must meet the admission requirements for both the McAfee School of Theology’s M.A.C.M. and the College of Professional Advancement’s M.S. in Organizational Leadership.
