Dr. Jeffrey G. Willetts

Professor of the Philosophy of Religion

Jeffrey WillettsRev. Dr. Jeffrey G. Willetts came to Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology as dean and professor of the philosophy of religion in July 2016. Dr. Willetts is the former founding dean, vice president, and professor of divinity at the John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Arlington, Virginia, where he served for 18 years.

In addition, Dr. Willetts has more than 25 years experience in congregational ministry serving as senior pastor of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and as church planter and pastor of Fair Oaks Church in Fairfax, Virginia.

Dr. Willetts has authored or edited several theological and philosophical publications. He has served as the Book Review Editor for the International Journal for Philosophy of Religion. And, he is an active member/participant in the Baptist World Alliance and Society for the Philosophy of Religion.

Dr. Willetts is married to the Rev. Elizabeth Willetts, and they have three adult children.
