Born in Trinidad in the West Indies to Bishop Stanley and Evangelist Wilma Knights, Ms. Knights grew up in Brooklyn, New York.Previous to Mercer University, she was the Director of Financial Aid for the Atlanta Campus of National Louis University, worked in Financial Aid at Columbia University, The City University of New York and Briarcliff College.

Working with ministers, helping to shape young men and women in ministry from the financial point of view is the challenge McAfee School of Theology begun in 2013, and with the cost of seminary education rising across the nation, the creation of a Financial Literacy Office could not have come at a better time.

"My desire is to see every student paying for a seminary education without using student loans. There are scholarships for all kinds of education, and it's available if you're willing to look for it and apply.I am happy to do the looking for students;all they will have to do is apply.Mercer supplies scholarships for every student that is accepted, but we would like every student to be on full scholarship."
